YOGA FOR A HAPPY and HEALTHY YOU

My name is Eva and I believe that yoga can support you in every aspect of your daily life and yes, indeed, make your body, mind and soul HAPPY! Because it asks us to stop, listen and feed ourselves with what we need most in the now.

When I roll out my mat to do my asana or sitting practice (that’s what I call meditation), I ask myself: “What do I need today?” Sometimes it’s a gentle slow flow practice to wake up my body and smooth out those cranky joints. On other days I love challenging myself in arm balances. And after a very long and exhausting day with the kids, I can totally hang out in a yin-like forward fold and just give in.

And to me, that is the beauty of yoga: You don’t have to have a perfect body to practice yoga. You don’t need to know the Sanskrit names of the poses. Rather, yoga invites us to connect the dots between our body, mind and soul and everything around us.

YOGA EVITA

Yoga came into my life in waves, it tickled my toes over the years as I was standing on the shores and looking out at the ocean, searching, and not knowing where to rest my mind on.

I became a mother and, boy, did I take on that role. Energy flew 24/7 without being replenished for too many times. Over the years I had been looking badly after myself and eventually was left with a messed-up gut, severe back-pain and menstruation problems.

So when yoga landed again in the lap of my worn-out, aching body, it was like somebody had taken me by the hand and showed me that I was still there. That I had a home inside.

Around the same time I discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine. Together with taking better care of my body and listening to its needs, nurturing and giving it rest when it needed, I slowly became stronger, healthier, flexible and more grounded. And more forgiving with myself.

Yoga is not about self improvement, it’s about self Acceptance.

MISSION EMPOWER

In my classes I want to encourage kids and adults alike and empower them to become healthy and happy with their own body and spirit.

Sometimes that means stretching the limits of your comfort zone, in your first crow or a long, vulnerable heart-opener. Other times it might be a guided meditation, singing together or massaging our mat-neighbour’s feet.

I invite you to dip your feet into the water, to listen to the waves, your own breath, and who knows, jump in with a huge smile and take a dive together.
